He turned his layoff into a kill.

Recruiter and actor Isaac Moran donned a candy pink wig and poured himself an almost full glass of Pinot Grigio last Thursday for a Google Hangouts work meeting – a call informing him he was being fired.

Moran, who until now worked for real estate brokerage firm Compass, appeared on the three-way video call with a human resources representative and his department manager not only with that rosy look, but also with an image. behind him. as a background.

“How are you?” Moran happily asks in a video he recorded of the call and then posted on TikTokwhere it went viral — receiving a million views so far.

The caption reads, “When you’re fired…but you got a BFA,” the latter being Moran’s BFA from New York Theater School. (He continues to act on the side.)

“I thought, ‘I’m going to be fired, so what are they going to do?’ Why not go out in some style, I guess,” Moran told the Post.

Moran, who is also a trained actor, wore a wig and had a big sip of wine for the otherwise unfortunate occasion.

“I have some tough news to share,” the department manager says in the 39-second clip as Moran listens and sips his wine. “Unfortunately, based on the actions the company needs to take depending on where the market is heading, your role is the one that is impacted.”

As that last line is spoken informing him that his position is being eliminated, Moran twirls a long lock of pink wig hair before the news causes him to bury his head in his hands and shake his head theatrically from side to side. the other. This gesture makes the other two callers smile at the end of the TikTok clip, which is Moran’s only upload to the app.

Moran says he knew the layoff call was coming and had been anticipating it for a week – and that’s part of the reason he made his brief video call number.

The clip received around 1 million views on TikTok.

“I think humor is definitely a coping mechanism for me,” Moran told The Post. “I think if I make myself laugh, it tends to make other people laugh.”

But Moran also chose this outfit to cheer up the other two people on the call, given that it was expected bad news. Before that, he had even considered doing a karaoke routine to break the ice, but ultimately settled on “a fine balance.”

“The whole team was fired, and each of us was getting separate 15-minute interviews — and I know the people on the call must have been doing the same spiel over and over again,” Moran added. “So I wanted, for myself, to make myself laugh, make everyone else laugh, and…hopefully, turn something that was basically a pile of trash and a hot trash fire into something… kinda funny or rewatchable.”

It has since become highly rewatchable, with 37,000 likes and nearly 2,100 shares – as well as hundreds of supportive comments.

‘Best colleague you could ever have,’ wrote one commenter, while another said, ‘I should take the executive decision to keep you on after this.’

“I love every choice you’ve made here,” replied another, while another commented, “What a great sense of humor at such a difficult time.”

Compass declined to comment to the Post on Moran’s viral video.

In June, according to Newsweek, Compass announced that it would cut 10% of its workforce, or some 450 employees. The company – which also lost $300 million in the first half of 2022 and was hit hard by rising interest rates and slow US home sales – is also planning another round of layoffs by now. the end of September.

Still, Moran says he holds no resentment toward his former company.

“They gave me a lot of afterthought in terms of placement,” he said. “So definitely no hard feelings.”
