Let Performa, the performance art institute, elevate a dress code into a full show. On Wednesday, the arts group held a black and white gala honoring Adam Pendleton at 99 Scott Studio in Brooklyn. Around 400 artists and benefactors attended the dinner and party wearing barely a single piece of color, including gorgeous white Balenciaga pajamas.
On Monday, Parsons School of Design raised $2.6 million to benefit Glasshouse, which honored Tory Burch, Lauren Santo Domingo, Darren Walker and Kehinde Wiley. Many guests wore up-and-coming designers with theatrical flair.
And the Public Theater raised $2.25 million at its annual gala in Central Park on Tuesday. The outdoor dinner, which paid tribute to producer Gil Shiva, was followed by performances by Renée Elise Goldsberry and Oscar Isaac.

“I really admire you all for having the courage to leave Manhattan.” — Roselee Goldberg, founder of Performa, which held its gala in Bushwick.
“We have the best team in the world, and it’s no coincidence that a lot of them went to Parsons.” — Tory Burch, honored by Parsons.
The Performa gala included a dinner under the stars, a reading of poetry by Joan Retallack and a work by Julius Eastman performed on four pianos.
“New York without institutions like Parsons would be just another big, soulless space.” — Darren Walker, who was honored by Parsons.
The most dressed features great outfits up and down and all over town.
