Lin-Manuel Miranda will not attend the Oscars on Sunday, he said on Twitter on Saturday, out of an abundance of caution after his wife tested positive for coronavirus over the weekend. He added that she was ‘doing well’ and said he had tested negative.

Mr. Miranda is up for the Best Original Song Oscar for the song “Dos Oruguitas” from Disney’s musical “Encanto.” It’s the first song he’s written from “start to finish in Spanish”, he said to the vulture magazine in January.

After last year’s socially distanced Oscars with separate seating, moviegoers were hoping for a return to normal with this year’s ceremony returning to its longtime home at the Dolby Theatre.
