Fox News can't stop calling Putin strong and Biden weak

Regular Fox News viewers probably think the US president is weak and the Russian president is strong. Why? Because it’s a story that’s often told on the center-right cable news channel, raising the very reasonable question: Whose side are they on anyway?

Geopolitical tensions between the United States and Russia are returning to Cold War levels now that the Russian President Vladimir Poutine at ordered troops to invade Ukraine. President Joe Biden finds himself in a precarious diplomatic situation that requires a nuanced balance to support European allies who are part of NATO, without provoking Putin with dangerous rhetoric that will only inspire Putin to invade more territories in Eastern Europe Is.

But cable information is rarely well nuanced. Take for example many Fox News pundits who seem intent on portraying the US president as weak and rudderless, while ostensibly praising Putin as strong. Oh, and why Putin feels entitled to invade Ukraine? Because he sees Biden as weak.

Perhaps Putin sees Biden as a weak leader because he’s a heavy consumer of Fox News opinion programming, and that’s a concept that’s repeated over and over.

This may seem odd because much of Fox News’ on-air identity and graphics is built around the American flag and patriotism. But now that the United States is facing a significant international crisis, many Fox News pundits seem to have turned into alliterative “sun soldiers and summer patriots” who Thomas Paine famous wrote about in The American crisis.

It seems that some Fox News pundits seem less concerned with patriotism than hitting their political opponents. So to answer the question posed above…which side are they on? Some might be with Putin, but most seem to side with their party on any patriotic responsibility.

Love it or leave it, losers.
