Dubai opened the “Museum of the future” (MOTF) on the historically significant date of the palindrome, February 22, 2022 – and it’s billed as the most high-tech and beautiful attraction in the country, if not the entire planet.
Located next to the Emirates Towers on Sheikh Zayed Road, the museum signifies a glimpse of the world in 50 years, showcasing and predicting how next-generation solutions – from artificial intelligence to augmented reality and identifying potential threats – can improve and revolutionize humanity for the better.
“It is an architectural and engineering marvel, confidently straddling the past and the future and applying cutting-edge technology to traditional art forms,” UAE officials said during the opening.
Crafted from a fiberglass and stainless steel frame, the development was designed by architectural firm Killa Design, and has already been recognized by National Geographic as one of 14 most beautiful museums in the world.
But His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai went even further, calling it “the most beautiful building in the world”. in a tweet.

Spanning a colossal 323,000 square feet and comprising seven floors, the 252 square foot high MOTF has multiple floors dedicated to different experiences.
Three floors include immersive exhibits, focusing on space resource development, ecosystems and bioengineering, as well as health and wellness.
Another floor will showcase near-future technologies that aim to revolutionize the world by addressing challenges in areas such as health, water, food, transport and energy.
The top floor is entirely dedicated to the little ones – dedicated to children to explore and solve challenges in their own way to become “our future heroes”, says the site.

The museum is plastered with quotes from Al Maktoum.
Among the quotes wrapping the facade, one translates to: “We may not live hundreds of years, but the products of our creativity can leave a legacy long after we are gone. The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it and execute it. It’s not something you expect, but rather something you create.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, Director General of the Dubai Future Foundation said of the museum’s first announcement: “The engineering icon is positioning Dubai as a testing ground for emerging technologies and a base of exploration for global talent, inventors and creative professionals. around the world to solve the greatest challenges that will shape the future of humanity.
“The Museum of the Future is a ‘living museum’, constantly adapting and changing as its very environment drives continuous and iterative changes in its exhibits and attractions,” added Gergawi.
