Since the end of summer, Fox and his friends spent countless hours of programming devoted to how the supply chain crisis would ruin Christmas. It turns out, however, that for various reasons, supply chain issues largely due to the pandemic, will NOT prevent gifts from appearing under the tree. What’s a center-right morning show to do?

The answer to this political media conundrum was solved Thursday morning when instead of focusing on the positive – that the supply chain won’t ruin Christmas – they instead focused on poking fun at top administration officials. Biden for their recklessness in sharing the joy that Christmas will go on with gifts and presents for all. Who is still at war at Christmas?

This is a recent New York Times item with the encouraging headline ‘Why Christmas Presents Are Coming On Time This Year’, which the dek said … ‘Fears that a disrupted supply chain could wreak havoc on the logistics industry during the holidays were evident fake because many Americans ordered early and bought in stores.

Key paragraphs, written by Niraj Chokshi:

Global supply chain issues that have resulted in long delays in manufacturing and shipping could spill outward, slowing package deliveries to millions of Americans in the weeks and days before Christmas, experts have warned. The prospect has even become a topic of discussion in Tory attacks on President Biden’s policies.

Despite initial fears, however, holiday shoppers received their gifts for the most part on time. Many consumers have helped themselves by shopping early and in person. Retailers ordered goods in advance and acted to avoid further bottlenecks. And delivery companies have planned well, hired enough people, and built enough warehouses to avoid being overwhelmed by a deluge of packages at the last minute, like the The postal service was last year.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki tweeted a link to the article, adding, “Take that Scrooge, the Grinch and any skeptics that might happen. The shelves are also 90% stocked (levels before the pandemic are 91%.)

White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain stepped into the action, sharing the same article and adding “Merry Christmas everyone, and to that over-publicized tale, a good night.”

Even President Biden stepped into the act, saying from the White House on Wednesday, a clip of which aired on Fox & Friends: “The predicted crisis did not happen. The packages are moving. The gifts are delivered. The shelves are not empty. I am sure you can find shelves because they are empty because this type of gift is very popular. I do not know.”

After this clip and one by Psaki at Wednesday’s press conference, Carly shimkus seemed to channel his popular high school tabletop car, holding back a laugh and adding skeptically “yes, so they say they saved Christmas”, while Brian Kilmeade smirked from the back row of the eighth grade classroom where he was welcoming the who from a distance, maybe.

Shimkus went on to note that the NY Times article shared by Psaki and Klain made no mention of the Biden administration at all.

“The funny thing is, if you read the article, it’s not about the Biden administration. The article explains that the reason why gifts arrive on time for people is that people were forced to shop early, ”she noted. “And FedEx and UPS have taken all of these steps to make sure people celebrate Christmas. So they take credit for something and link to an article that doesn’t even mention the Biden administration at all.

She is wrong on this last point. As it was extracted above, the New York Times The article in question includes this note on the now averted supply chain crisis: “The prospect has even become a talking point in the Conservative attacks on President Biden’s policies. “

So it seems that regardless of whether the crisis was averted, it is ALWAYS a topic of discussion in Tory attacks on Biden, whether Christmas is saved or not.

Go on. Do better.
