Fox News ran a segment on “People Wake Up” Christmas Movies that was super goofy even by their standards.
It’s a high bar from the people who literally invented the Christmas war, but the cast of Outnumbered was more than up to the task on Tuesday afternoon.
The segment opened with this clip of Love, in fact in which Andrew Lincoln silently betrays his best friend and miraculously avoids being beaten as he professes his love for by Keira Knightley character using cue cards all Chiwetel Ejiofor is a few meters away.
Despite the fact that we waged a war of independence for the right to hate this scene, the anchor Harris faulkner bitterly decried the “many beloved Christmas movies now targeted by awakened people”.
Faulkner read aloud what she called a “particularly nasty tweet” about the film before pitching it to her panel.
This example, like a One astute Twitter watcher noted, last year, was from an unverified account that now has 603 followers.
This part of the love is actually betrayal… it’s not cute, it’s not endearing… it’s a scary asshole who is in love with his best friend’s wife… no to me. Fuck you Marc #LoveActually pic.twitter.com/M0nOf8lypk

“This isn’t the only popular holiday movie facing the wrath of the cancellation culture,” Faulkner said. “Vacations is accused of promoting toxic masculinity. Santa: allegedly fat-phobic. Same It’s a wonderful life accused of misogyny because that of Jimmy Stewart the character yells at his wife and kisses her without her consent.
She then threw it at the panel, which included Pete hegseth, who proudly coined the term “toxic femininity” towards the end of the miserable procedure.
Faulkner wrapped things up with some prop “comedy”, wielding a Love, in fact-Style cue card that said “More in Numbers”, but since it was in a tiny box of five, it looked like she was covering her face with justified embarrassment.
As lazy and silly as the “canceled Christmas movies” are as a premise, this segment was even worse in its execution of that premise. It was entirely derived from a New York Post roundup of tweets criticize the films. And not big libturd accounts or Holly-bizarre celebrities.
The account that criticized Santa had 1,249 followers at the time of writing.
Well shit, I forgot all the super fatphobic shit in the Disney movie Santa Claus. Shit.

the It’s a wonderful life the cancellers had 1,773 and 418 subscribers respectively.
“It’s a wonderful life”. George Bailey was an abusive and manipulative misogynist.

… Enforce their consent. The scene in It’s a Wonderful Life is an example of both the man imposing himself and the woman deciding, in this sense, to give in to him rather than to resist more.

And that’s how no one ever watched any of those movies again. I have 32,000 subscribers, so now I have to cancel Die hard, because Die hard 2 is clearly the best Christmas movie.
