CNBC anchors Becky Fast and Andrew Ross Sorkin GOP Senator as a team Bill Cassidy, completely destroying its inconsistent arguments against the Covid vaccine mandates.

Fridays editing by CNBC Screaming box, Cassidy spent several minutes arguing against the president at Joe Biden federal vaccine mandates based on “personal freedom” and the value of a kitchen sink other familiar anti-mandate flak.

Sorkin stepped in to overturn several of Cassidy’s objections, such as the existence of revolutionary infections, and addressed the “personal freedom” argument.

“The second thing, however, regarding personal freedom, is who said you have the freedom to give me Covid? Sorkin asked.

“You know, you’re making a really good point, but my point is we’d save a lot of lives if everyone was driving 35 miles an hour,” Cassidy replied.

“If the federal government had a mandate you’re going to drive 35 miles an hour and if you go over it, totally screwed up…” Cassidy explained. “In fact, we’re going to put a governor on your car so you can’t go over 35 miles an hour, we’d save a lot of lives.”

“Senator, we have speed limits,” Quick cut off. “We have speed limits of 55 miles an hour, speed limits of 65 miles an hour. Thirty-five miles an hour.

“Oh yes! Seventy-five!” Cassidy interjected.

“I don’t understand that line of questions because we have exactly what you just laid out,” Quick said.

“No I’m not describing – I’m not saying I don’t have a speed limit, but when we have 55 mph speed limits and people actually obey, people at a time Gave stopped obeying, and they made 75. Now they’re doing 80, ”Cassidy said.

“So you’re going to have more accidents with more personal freedom,” he continued, pulling a baffled Quick laugh.

After arguing that her position means more people will die and that’s fine, Cassidy moved on to the unrelated argument that it’s local and state governments that should make the warrants, not the federal government.

Biden’s mandates having been paralyzed by politicized lower federal courts, and don’t think they are doing much better in the 6-3 Trump Supreme Court. But as Quick and Sorkin demonstrate, you don’t have to be a constitution-maker to know these arguments are hogwash.
