Fox and his friends is gravely concerned about the existential threat the United States currently faces from children crossing the border without adult supervision and expressly asks its viewers to be outraged. Why? Because that could lead to the Taliban infiltrate the homeland… or something. No, for real, that’s the argument.

The southern border of the United States continues to be an absolute mess of undocumented migrants seeking refuge and / or a better life. Among them are many unaccompanied minors, i.e. children, who enter without the supervision of a parent or guardian and, according to recent reports, are airlifted to various places to be with their parents or approved adult supervision.

The fact that many of these robberies took place at ungodly hours of, say 2:30 a.m. raised reasonable eyebrows among critics of Biden, aka the Fox News hosts. Fox News reporter at the White House Pierre Doocy asked the press officer Jen psaki on that Tuesday, and his flippant response to the definition of “the middle of the night” only further scandalized the political media apparatus with ersatz outrage.

After a stilted but not entirely unfair description of the complexity of the story, Fox and his friends host Brian Kilmeade summarized it all in small portions of anger for viewers to consume. Co-host Ainsley Earhardt noted how particularly concerned Long Island congressmen are, especially because of the MS-13 gang issues there, apparently because these undocumented kids are eager to join a gang, one guesses.

“We cannot raise the children of the world, it is impossible to take care of our children and the children of others,” Kilmeade said. He then warned that a video broadcast of children on a plane was a “direction sign to Central and South America, Africa, Norway, whatever, to come to our country.”

Earhardt then echoed the “Taliban”, suggesting that legally caring for children without supervision … will lead to terrorist attacks?

Kilmeade continued his harangue against the Biden administration’s care for orphaned children. “You get on board, you get robbed, you have a good plane trip, you are placed in a suburban community in America, light years away from your country,” he warned. “Now is the time to sell the house and send our children to another country,” speaking clearly of the foreign families.

Suburban communities in America are forced to contend with a few thousand orphaned children. Are real estate values sure to drop?

Kilmeade ended by calling on the Biden administration for failing to understand the “ripple effect” of caring for the regrouped masses – or children! – yearning to breathe freely, and even scoffed at the efforts of, you know, looking after children alone in a new country.

“They are not doing anything magnanimous to help these children,” said Kilmeade (although it is suspected that the children have a different opinion.) “I do not see why the American people are not more outraged!” he finished.

Yes, the border is a crisis. And the management of the Biden administration has done nothing to help defuse it, especially when it rejects calls to call it “political theater.” However, these are children who are alone. And the number of arrivals on these flights is relatively low. If American communities are unable to bring in children who need help, then who are we as a nation?

The Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ are often mentioned on Fox and his friends. I’m curious how Jesus would feel about this outrage to help tired, poor, and possibly scared children.
