Hello. I know our relationship is mostly digital communication, I hit your inbox a few times a week to bring you recipes and articles. But today I would like to invite you to buy our Sunday newspaper and enjoy the analog pleasures of a special printed section: “Quick flavorWith two dozen easy recipes from our store’s recipe developers and journalists. It will pay off big.

Will I cook from the section this weekend? I am going tonight, absolutely: salt and pepper shrimp rolls (above), maybe; Where Crispy gnocchi with popped tomatoes and mozzarella; Where pineapple marinated chicken breasts.

Saturday I would like to start with Crepes, cook them in lots of butter so they’re rich and crisp at the same time, then take a long walk so I’m jazzed up for lunch (a sandwich of Cheddar, cucumbers and marmalade – for real). Then after a nap, preparing dinner: Taiwanese Meefun, probably, or a plateau of velvet fish with mushrooms.

Will it be time to make our updated recipe for bread without kneading also? I would like to have a bread on hand at the end of the weekend, to accompany an old-fashioned Sunday dinner: milk chicken, maybe, or the first beef stew of the season. (Alternatively, you can use this as the basis for this cream of mushroom bruschetta with caramelized onions, which is unreal.)

But first, Sunday brunch: eggs Benedict, say, with one of those French coffees served in a bowl, with half and half full? Or poached eggs with mint and yogurt, with a kombucha to wash them? (Yes, you can and should make your own kombucha.) Have granola, anyway. These days I like it strawberry granola better.

You’ll find thousands upon thousands more recipes to cook this weekend waiting for you at New York Times Kitchen. You need a subscription to access it, it is true. (Subscriptions are the fuel for our stoves. Please, if you haven’t already, subscribe today.) And you will find even more inspiration on our Instagram and Youtube channel. (I’m here too. Find me on Twitter: @samsifton. Also on Instagram: same handle.)

Write for help if you find yourself stuck with a recipe or your account: cookingcare@nytimes.com. Someone will get back to you. And write to me too if you like: foodeditor@nytimes.com. I read every letter sent.

Now that’s a far cry from anything to do with bacon or tea cakes, but you really should read this accounting, by Kate Wong in Scientific American, from the world of extreme ornithology competitions.
