The future awaits them and many are wondering what our planet will look like in the years to come.

Architect Chris Lawson might have the answer, at least when it comes to residences. For each environment, CK Architecture envisions the types of futuristic homes we might live in for years to come.

Specifically, Lawson presents the floor plan for four different condition types: life on Mars, underwater life, life in the clouds, and – gulp – an underground post-apocalyptic future.

With the help of a real estate development company Good movement and a 3D designer, sketches of the houses created by Lawson came to life.

Each home is built and designed with materials and shapes to withstand the elements of its surroundings.

Scroll down for a glimpse of the future.

House on Mars

While the Red Planet is out of our grasp at the moment, game changers like Elon Musk and his company, SpaceX, are making this idea. a real possibility for Humanity. With the NASA help, which is planning its first manned mission to Mars by 2030, this house can be transformed very quickly from science fiction to science fact.

The design of the house would be partly visible and partly underground, providing structural support and protection from the harsh climate outside. It would also protect from too much light.

With power and survival at the forefront of the design, Lawson told GoodMove how bubble-shaped domes would allow for easier layering of the upper and lower levels. Agriculture for crops can take place inside these domes and solar panels installed outside the domes would promote energy self-sufficiency.

The material would be made of titanium, sturdy plastic or glass to be able to support the weight of the structure and make the dome functional, according to GoodMove.

While we’re still waiting for flying cars, it’s not completely out of place to expect flying houses to follow shortly, given the myriad of technological advancements underway today, Lawson said.

With epic skyline views, these homes will surely be an Instagram influencer dream. Who needs a penthouse in the sky, when you can actually live there?

According to GoodMove, the general shape would most likely resemble the drones we see today, only 10 times the size with gigantic propellers that would continuously spin to create the airflow needed to keep this flying house in the air.

Construction should be carefully placed – ensuring that there is an even distribution of weight so that the house can maintain its balance in the air. Probably important.

Plenty of windows would be installed throughout the house to ensure beautiful sunset views, but UV protection would be needed to prevent damage from the sun’s rays (as close as you would be to them).

Apocalyptic house

If we ever find ourselves living in an apocalypse, the houses might have to be a bit sturdier.

And Lawson and GoodMove envisioned a much nicer version of what these houses could look like than the post-apocalyptic future of movies like “The Matrix.”

The house should be built underground to provide optimum security, so any possibility of letting in light is crucial. Hatch-shaped windows for surfacing domes or windows built into the hillside are options. And because fresh air is vital, future designers would consider some sort of vent or outer tube to filter the air.

Mirrors would also be used to let in light, cultivate and grow crops for food.

Marine life

Good movement

These aren’t exactly the “Little Mermaid” underwater life levels, but these pods would be an ideal solution for aquatic life.

Considering that approximately 71% of the Earth is covered with water, it would not be surprising if we would have to adapt at some point to living away from the earth.

Resembling the house of Mars, the domes would be the ideal structure for easy flotation. The materials would likely be glass or plastic to resist water.

With part of the structure located below the waves, elevator access would also be needed for people to rise to the surface, according to GoodMove.
