After quarterback Andy Dalton injured his knee in a scrum last week, coach Matt Nagy said rookie Justin Fields will start against the Browns (1-1) on Sunday. The excitement generated by Fields dominated training camp and the preseason, and he could slip in as a starter for the Bears (1-1).

He’ll need to play well to tie the Browns, who have scored at least 28 points in their first two games. Wide receiver Jarvis Landry must miss at least three games in the injured reserve with knee injury, and Odell Beckham’s status remains unclear as he continues to recover from surgery Knee. Still, the Browns’ defense could result in a rookie quarterback in a mistake or two. To take: Browns -7.5

Atlanta Falcons vs. Giants, 1 p.m., FOX

Row: Giants -3 | Total: 48.5

If Saquon Barkley’s limited production in the first two weeks (83 rushing yards on 23 carries) continues, then Daniel Jones could find success against the Falcons (0-2), whose defense allowed eight touchdowns by the past. Jones needs to continue to protect the ball, like he did last week, and his receivers can’t give up touchdowns, like Darius Slayton did last week against Washington.

Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan has thrown three interceptions already and it’s clear the Falcons are in rebuild mode. The Giants (0-2), although they still haven’t won, are hoping to compete in the NFC East, so it’s reasonable to think they’ll be motivated to clinch a victory at home. But given the Giants’ unpredictability with errors and penalties, the Falcons could at least make this one competitive. To take: Falcons +3

Arizona Cardinals at Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m., Fox

Line: Cardinals -7.5 | Total: 52

Winning in the NFL is tough. NFL head coach Urban Meyer and rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence – two men who have rarely lost in college – are unlikely to have an easier time securing their first NFL victory over the Cardinals (2-0 ).

Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray pleaded early for the MVP award, placing second in total passing yards (689) and touchdowns (7). His aerial attack is expected to continue against the Jaguars (0-2), whose defense has allowed nearly 300 passing yards in each of their first two games. The Jaguars team Twitter account published this week a message from Meyer who promised, “We’re going to get better.” He didn’t say it would be this week. To take: Cardinals -7.5

Washington footballers at Buffalo Bills, 1 p.m., Fox

Line: Invoices -10 | Total: 45.5

It’s not the Giants’ defense that Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke torched for 336 yards. Heinicke and the football team (1-1) will collide with a Buffalo defense that did not allow an opposing team to throw for 200 yards. Against the Bills (1-1) and Josh Allen, Washington will struggle to keep pace on the scoreboard. To take: Invoices -10
