Dear observers,

Netflix announced on Saturday that it has picked up “Manifest” for a fourth and final season after the show was canceled by NBC earlier this summer.

Spend a week in the fridge.

“My life is murder”

When to watch: Now on Glans.

Lucy Lawless stars in this Australian proceeding as Alexa, a retired police officer who just can’t stay out of the murder-solving game. The show feels a bit retro at times thanks to its no-frills beat and bumper music that sounds like it’s a ’90s sitcom, and its tone is more like “Psych” or ” Monk ”than that of a grueling European misery opera. . There is a sunny ease and quirk to it all, and Lawless is a lot of fun to watch. The entire 10-episode first season is available for streaming, and the first two episodes of season 2 are also available; new episodes arrive Monday through October 25.

“What we do in the shadows”

When to watch: Thursday at 10 p.m., on FX.

Oh thank goodness one of today’s best comedies is back this week for its third season. You’ll get the most out of the ongoing storylines if you start from the beginning – seasons 1 and 2 are streamed on Hulu – but don’t let a wholeness fetish keep you from enjoying the ridiculous joys of these Staten Island vampires. We pick up on Guillermo’s heroism at the end of last season, where he killed a bunch of other vampires to protect our crew; this violates vampire law, so now he’s trapped in a cage in the basement. “Shadows” thrives on clashes between majesty and worldliness, whimsical tradition contrasting with brother-style quarrels. If you’re feeling a little frayed right now and want something shiny and silly, real fun, check out this.
