The ending to the Vikings saga picks up with the aftermath of the Rus battle, and Ubbe (played by Jordan Patrick Smith), is still in Iceland. Where is Vikings season 6 part 2 set?

The final instalment of Vikings will take viewers through a number of different ‘worlds’, as each individual character has their storyline tied up.

The show’s creator, Michael Hirst, explained how different ‘stages’ will feature, with one of the main stages being Kattegat – the home of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel).

The situation is tense in Kattegat, with Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) left severely wounded following the Rus battle.

Leadership of the kingdom is in question, and the people of Kattegat had started to lose faith in their ruler.

Meanwhile, following the aftermath of the Rus battle, Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) and Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) believed they were victorious.

Kiev will feature as another stage in the upcoming season, as Ivar still has plans to overthrow Oleg and see the rightful heir, Igor (Oran Glynn O’Donovan) take the crown.

Fans are also looking forward to seeing King Alfred (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) return for the final episodes.

He is expected to come face-to-face with his old enemies, including Ivar, in the ultimate battle at Wessex.

One of Ivar’s only remaining missions is to take over Wessex, as he has a dream of becoming the most famous and feared Viking who ever lived.

Actor Walsh-Peelo shared a photo of himself as King Alfred covered in blood, and fans are expecting a huge battle scene to ensue.

Ivar and Alfred knew each other when Alfred was just a boy, and the pair were known to play chess together. Ivar still holds on to one of the chess pieces, which acts as a reminder that he is yet to face Alfred again.
