Between network, cable and streaming, the modern television landscape is a vast one. Here are some of the shows, specials and movies coming to TV this week, September 21-27. Details and times are subject to change.

A CRY IN THE DARK (1988) 8 p.m. on TCM. This drama chronicles the story of a New Zealand couple who were tried and later exonerated for the murder of their 5-week-old daughter during a fateful camping trip. Streep portrays Lindy Chamberlain “with the kind of virtuosity that seems to redefine the possibilities of screen acting,” Vincent Canby wrote in his New York Times review.

FILTHY RICH 9 p.m. on Fox. Kim Cattrall of “Sex in the City” stars in this new series as Margaret Monreaux, the matriarch of a powerful Southern family behind a successful Christian television network. When Margaret’s husband dies in a plane crash, she’s stunned to learn that he fathered three children outside of their marriage, all of whom are written into his will.

TIME100 10 p.m. on ABC. Every year, Time magazine selects its list of the world’s 100 most influential people to grace its pages and attend its annual gala. This year, the magazine has partnered with ABC to unveil those on the 2020 list ahead of its print debut on Friday, Sept. 25. The special will feature interviews with some honorees and musical performances, as well as a look at the year’s biggest stories.

FRONTLINE: THE CHOICE 2020 9 p.m. on PBS. This two-hour election special, a PBS tradition since 1988, will offer an investigative look at the lives and characters of President Donald J. Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden.

THE MASKED SINGER 8 p.m. on Fox. This inventive singing competition returns for a new round, following its Emmy win for outstanding costumes. Season 4 will welcome 16 new celebrities to don the elaborate identity-shielding costumes, while hosts, panelists and viewers at home attempt to guess the voice behind the mask.

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT 9 p.m. on NBC. This week, viewers will find out who wins this show’s 15th season. The final 10 acts include a spoken word poet, aerialists, dancers and singers.

AGENTS OF CHAOS 9 p.m. on HBO. Alex Gibney’s documentary (the second part airs Thursday) takes a deeper look at Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, featuring interviews with former government officials, Trump campaign and business associates and Russian journalists.

BOYS TOWN (1938) 8 p.m. on TCM. Boys Town, a home for delinquent boys in Omaha, serves as the setting for this classic film. Spencer Tracy plays the community’s founder, Father Edward J. Flanagan, who tries to reform the young Whitey Marsh (Mickey Rooney) from his life of mischief.

NBA WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS 9 p.m. on TNT. The NBA playoffs continue with Game 4 of the Western Conference series between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets.

A WILDERNESS OF ERROR 8 p.m. on FX. This five-part docuseries from the producers of “The Jinx” traces the case of Army surgeon Jeffrey MacDonald, who was accused of killing his pregnant wife and two daughters in the 1970s. Based on Errol Morris’s book of the same name, the series examines the many narratives that emerged around the case, and explores the possibility that MacDonald may be innocent.

THE RED SHOES (1948) 8 p.m. on TCM. In his review of this now classic film for The New York Times, Bosley Crowther wrote that “there has never been a picture in which the ballet and its special, magic world have been so beautifully and dreamily presented.” In it, Moira Shearer plays a young, passionate dancer who is forced to choose between her career (represented by Anton Wolbrook’s impresario) and her romance with a young composer (Marius Goring). One of the most beautiful films from the British directing duo Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, who made more than a few beautiful films.

FARGO 9 p.m. on FX. Chris Rock, Jason Schwartzman and Timothy Olyphant star in a new season of this anthology show, inspired by the original Coen brothers’ film. Season 4 centers on the story of two feuding Kansas City crime syndicates in 1950 intertwined in a fight for power.
