Dominic Thiem defeats Alexander Zverev in the U.S. Open men's final for his first Grand Slam singles title

The tournament final did not include the three biggest stars in men’s tennis — Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer — an unusual twist to the event that was held this year without fans in New York.
