Over 20,000 people have died from coronavirus in NYC | New York Post

The Big Apple’s coronavirus death toll has surpassed 20,000 — a staggering tally that’s thousands more than any other city on Earth.

A total of 20,056 people in New York City have died as a result of the contagion as of Monday night, data from the city’s Department of Health shows.

That count includes 14,928 confirmed COVID-19 fatalities and 5,128 “probable” deaths, according to the data. Those ranked in the probable category exhibited telltale signs of the bug but were not officially tested.

In New York state, a total of 21,764 people succumbed to the virus as of Monday, according to state statistics.
