Thank You for Flying SpaceX


America’s space program is about to get a brand new ride. NASA said last week that on May 27 two astronauts will be strapped into a SpaceX crew capsule atop a SpaceX rocket, which will blast them to a speed of 17,000 miles an hour, to Earth orbit and the international space station.

This is an upgrade from the usual astronaut commute. For the past nine years, since the Space Shuttle’s final mission in the summer of 2011, Americans have had to hitch to orbit on Russian craft. Next month’s liftoff from the Kennedy Space Center…
