Sean Hannity buys 500 Yankees tickets for NY healthcare workers

Fox News talk show host Sean Hannity bought 500 Yankees tickets for New York health care workers on the front lines of the battle against the coronavirus outbreak.

Hannity was responding to a challenge from colleague Ainsley Earhardt and announced the purchase on his Twitter account.

“Challenge met. I called my friend Randy Levine of [the New York Yankees] and purchased 500 Yankee Tkts for The Hero medical workers all over NY,” Hannity said in a posting Sunday. “Randy and Hal Steinbrenner and the Yankees immediately donated 500 more tkts!!”

He then urged “my friends” Lara Trump and Eric Trump to participate in the #CombatCovid19challenge.

Earhardt tweeted Friday that she delivered groceries to her local community center, saying that “these will help the 200 cars in line to feed their families.” She then called on Hannity to give back.

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) began the challenge earlier this month.

“America is strongest when we’re united. That’s why @SenGillibrand & I are launching the #CombatCOVID19Challenge – to encourage Americans to support each other as we all #CombatCOVID19,” Cruz said on Twitter.

It’s unclear when the health care workers will be able to take advantage of the gift and attend a game at Yankee Stadium.

Major League Baseball announced on March 12 that it was postponing opening day indefinitely because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Although discussions have been ongoing about when to resume the 2020 season, and whether fans would be allowed at games, no plans have yet been announced.
