Biden accuser may interview with Chris Wallace: report

The woman who accused former Vice President Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her when she worked as a staffer in his Senate office in 1993 is negotiating to appear in an interview with Fox News’ Chris Wallace.

Tara Reade told the New York Times that she has only had offers to appear on Fox News, including from Sean Hannity, but none from the other network and cable news stations like CNN or MSNBC.

“They’re not offering to put me on TV — they’re just doing stories,” Reade told the New York Times in an article published Thursday. “No anchors, no nothing like that.”

Reade told columnist Ben Smith that she’d like to tell her story to a television anchor she admires, like CBS’ Gayle King, but hasn’t been called.

She said in the Wednesday interview that at first she turned down the requests from Fox News.

“I’ve been trying to just kind of wait to get someone in the middle,” Reade told the Times. “I don’t want to be pigeonholed as a progressive, I don’t want to be pigeonholed as a Trump supporter.”

But she said she’s planning to take up Fox News’ offer for an interview this weekend with “someone a little more up the middle.”

The Times confirmed she has been in talks with Wallace.

In his column, Smith said Reade has no PR person or attorney and tried reaching out to reporters like Ronan Farrow on Twitter.

She said a supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders, Katie Halper, put her on her podcast and The Intercept reported a story based on a friend and brother of Reade’s.

Business Insider also published a story.

The Times and the Washington Post both reported on her allegations earlier this month.

Representatives for CNN and MSNBC declined to explain why they haven’t booked Reade, the report said.

Biden hasn’t personally addressed the claims and his campaign put out a statement denying them.
