Wishing we could dance with NCAA's Cinderella

There’s a certain pleasantness that comes with the second round of the NCAA tournament.

Sixteen total games on the first Saturday and Sunday of the tournament allow the second round to retain most of the frenetic energy that flows from back-to-back marathons on Thursday and Friday. By this point, teams that pulled off first-round upsets need just one more win to reach the Sweet 16.

A Cinderella should be emerging. Brackets should be busting.

The parity that permeated college basketball this year would have made this tournament competitive and unpredictable.

So here we are, spending a Saturday in March without live sports. Luckily for us, NFL free agency went off without a hitch, providing plenty of material to consume.

Friday saw two former Los Angeles running backs move on from the West Coast. A day after the Rams released him, Todd Gurley signed with the Atlanta Falcons. Melvin Gordon (Chargers) signed a two-year deal with the Denver Broncos, where Drew Lock is primed to take over at quarterback full-time after the team released Joe Flacco.
