LAS VEGAS – The spread of COVID-19 has triggered an unprecedented shutdown on the Las Vegas Strip. 

Health officials on Monday reported the Nevada’s first pandemic-related death, and the number of coronavirus cases is rapidly accelerating. 

At a fast and dramatic pace, the COVID-19 crisis has slowed demand along the Las Vegas Strip corridor – financial fallout now leading to layoffs and furloughs for thousands of workers and closures that will soon turn this vacation mecca into a ghost town.

Here’s a look at what is closed on the Las Vegas Strip. This list will be updated as companies announce more closure in the time of COVID-19.

The massive Wynn resort houses a massive casino

Wynn Resorts 

The unprecedented shuttering began Sunday, when Wynn Resorts announced it will close its two luxury Strip properties for two weeks starting Tuesday.

The company announced the closures after Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak ordered that all K-12 public schools in the Clark County School District close. After two weeks, Wynn will evaluate the situation. 

Wynn CEO Matt Maddox announced in a video shared with employees that economic hardships will intensify for the company – but workers will still get paid.
