Tinashe, A$AP Ferg talk radio play and first times at NYFW 2020

You never forget your first.

Tinashe dropped “Songs for You” late last year and is about to start touring, but the singer and actress still remembers the original thrill of hearing one of her songs on the radio.

“I died. It was like the best moment of my life, literally,” she told The Post at the LaQuan Smith show during New York Fashion Week 2020, where she sat front row along with A$AP Ferg and his girlfriend, Renell Medrano, a photographer and director. “I was at home in Los Angeles, coming back from rehearsal, and I had to pull over and film myself. It was a magical moment.”

Tinashe rocked one of Smith’s break-the-Internet sheer leopard-print catsuits ($695 on LaQuanSmith.com). “I feel like it’s that classic, sexy, feline energy,” she said of the see-through bodystocking, previously seen on Rihanna and Winnie Harlow.

The 27-year-old artist wants to buy Smith’s new velvet-and-sheer-mesh onesie straight off the runway. “I loved it!” she said. “Everything was so gorgeous: the fur, the bags, the black puffy [pieces]. I need one of everything!”

Ferg said he showed up to support Smith, his classmate at New York’s High School of Art and Design. As for the first time he heard one of his tunes on the airwaves, Ferg said it was an extremely pleasurable experience.

“It felt like an orgasm,” he said.
