The best NYFW trends of 2020

We’ve passed the halfway point of New York Fashion Week, and fresh trends are either still emerging or solidifying their place in the sartorial stratosphere.

Whether it’s new riffs on headpieces (veils are a thing, who knew?), the color of the season (green is currently reigning supreme) or playful takes on plaid, the fashions are in full swing.

Watch this space as we update some of the key trends of the upcoming fall 2020 season coming out of NYFW 2020.

Plaid comes back out to play

Whether pretty in pink, punked to the max or showing up in unexpected places, this distinct pattern was impossible to miss.

Everybody is going green

While shades of green aren’t necessarily new on the runways, the designers’ takes on the hue this season were. See: expertly styled shades ranging from olive to neon. It’s easy being green come fall 2020.

The veil takes pride of place

Are veils the new bucket hats? Whether dotted, embellished or whipped up from expertly wrapped tulle, the delicate headpiece found its place on the runways. We’re calling it now: It’s the breakout accessory of the season.
