The XFL kicks off its inaugural 10-week regular season this weekend with a full schedule of games for the eight founding franchises.
After Saturday’s openers, Sunday’s schedule begins with former Chicago Bears head coach and three-time Grey Cup winner in the CFL, Marc Trestman, leading the Tampa Bay Vipers against the New York Guardians, coached by ex-San Diego Chargers boss Kevin Gilbride.

RADICAL RULES: Overtime, and other ways the XFL differs from the NFL
The final game of the opening weekend has what looks like a mismatch on paper, at least from a name-recognition standpoint. Jonathan Hayes, the longtime Cincinnati Bengals tight ends coach, will lead the St. Louis Battlehawks into battle. They’ll face the Dallas Renegades, coached by Bob Stoops — who won a national title and two college coach of the year awards at the University of Oklahoma.

Kickoff: Sunday, 5 p.m. ET
Site: Globe Life Park (Arlington, Texas)
