Shakira's $20,000 boots, 'Zootopia' look, workout routines

Between Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, the Super Bowl halftime show featured eight outfits this year. But one of Shakira’s costumes in particular is catching fans’ attention.

The Colombian singer, 43, performed many of her songs in the first half of the performance in a glittering ruby red skirt and crop top set with matching boots. The entire look, designed by Peter Dundas, featured 123,000 Swarovski crystals.

The boots cost $20,000 and were from Shakira’s personal collection, designer Dan Life told “Entertainment Tonight.” Attaching the crystals took “10 days and nights of work.

“The boots were Shak’s favorite pair that she wore for so many years and so this was a very sentimental addition to her look,” he added. USA TODAY reached out to Shakira’s stylist for more information.

Did Disney predict Shakira’s fashion future?

After the performance, fans on social media were quick to point out Shakira’s red outfit bared resemblance to a past costume: that of her “Zootopia” character, Gazelle.

Shakira played a fictional singer in Disney’s 2016 animalcentric animated film. During one performance in the movie, Gazelle donned a red crop top with a matching sparkly skirt and knee-high red boots.

“shakira showin up to the halftime show in her gazelle outfit from zootopia,” user @jaakerz314 tweeted after the performance.

“Was this intentional?” @ZNN_Andy wondered.

“i will never shut up about the fact that shakira wore her zootopia outfit for the superbowl halftime show,” @thetrueliz wrote. “im living for this.”
