Four-star recruit Cameron Martinez caps off top-10 recruiting class

Cameron Martinez, a two-way player for his high school football team in Muskegon, Michigan, has signed his letter of intent to attend Ohio State, the school announced Wednesday.

Martinez, projected as a safety in college, was the Buckeyes’ last remaining unsigned commitment. His signing is expected to cap their recruiting class for 2020.

During the early signing period in December, Ohio State inked a majority of its class with 24 signees.

Though committed since last summer, Martinez postponed his signing in December in the aftermath of the departure of Jeff Hafley, the Buckeyes’ defensive co-coordinator who left to become Boston College’s head coach.

Martinez, a versatile four-star recruit who also played quarterback at Muskegon High School, reaffirmed his commitment last week following a visit from Kerry Coombs, who was hired as defensive coordinator to replace Hafley.
