Date-night ideas: Plenty of live tunes this weekend | The Berkshire Eagle


FRIDAY, FEB. 7 

Don’t miss the chance to see comedian Chloe Hilliard at Dottie’s Coffee Lounge in Pittsfield at 8 p.m. Hilliard has appeared on “Last Comic Standing,” “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon,” Comedy Central’s “The Nightly Show,” and more. I Anbassa comes to the Barn at the Egremont Village Inn for a Bob Marley tribute, 8 p.m. The Barn previews the event online, “I Anbassa delivers high energy, all original World Reggae grounded in Rastafarian roots music, laced with rock, funk and afro-beat. Bringing forward a fresh, new and infectious sound, he ignites on stage with intuitive hooks and bubbling rhythms that instantly get the crowd moving and singing along.” Tickets are $15, available at theegremontbarn.com.

Catch Roger Cohn and Lenny Sutton at Race Brook Lodge’s Down County Social Club, 8 p.m., 864 S. Undermountain Road, Sheffield. According to Race Brook, “Roger Cohn and Lenny Sutton bring a fresh perspective to familiar — and not-so-familiar — songs from a golden era of pop music.” There’s a $10 suggested donation for the artists.

Editor’s Pick: The Adams Lions Club is hosting a Wine and Beer Tasting event at Bounti-Fare, 6 to 8 p.m., featuring Italian wine and IPAs. Tickets are $25, available from Adams Lions Club members, at Smith Brothers-McAndrews Insurance agency, 45 Park St., or at the door.

Rev Tor’s annual Dead of Winter Jam with Steal Your Peach Band returns to Colonial Theatre, 8 p.m. The night will feature Mark Mercier of Max Creek, with special guest appearances by Gina Coleman of Misty Blues, Sarah Kohrs of Tumo-Kohrs, Phil Simon of Rice: An American Band and Tom Corrigan of The Reformers. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 on the day of the show. Get there early for preshow entertainment by Tom Corrigan, 6:30 p.m.

New Hampshire psych-folk band Party of the Sun heads to Shire Breu-Hous, following the release of their new album “Trekker.” Catch them starting at 8 p.m. Shire Breu-Hous is located at 63 Flansburg Ave., Dalton.

Stop by PortSmitt’s Lakeway restaurant on Pecks Road in Pittsfield for live music by Lindsay Anne and Duffy from 6 to 9 p.m.

Tourists welcomes Erin Rae for a free Live in the Lounge show, 8 to 9:30 p.m. According to Tourists, “Gifted with a unique ability to fuse musical genres and influences to craft songs that feel fresh and wholly her own, Erin Rae has thrown down a direct challenge to the stereotype of what a Southern singer should be.” Space is limited, so get there early! 915 State Road, North Adams.
