NCIS LA season 11, episode 3 promo: What will happen in Hail Mary? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Season 11 of NCIS LA kicked off recently and fans have already seen the return of some familiar faces in the new series. This week saw wrestler Bill Goldberg back in the frame as DOJ agent Lance Hamilton. He worked alongside Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) but what will happen next in the hit police procedural?

What will happen in NCIS LA season 11, episode 3?

NCIS LA airs in America on CBS on Sundays but British broadcaster Sky One has yet to share a UK premiere date.

However, fans on this side of the Atlantic could be waiting some time after the previous runs have aired months after the show hits US television.

CBS has released a short promo for Hail Mary as well as a synopsis which reads: “Callen and Sam run protection detail for retired Navy Admiral Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) in an operation to locate a missing Naval intelligence officer.”

The teaser trailer is a dramatic affair with a narrator stating: “Next week, NCIS is undercover.”

The promo opens with G Callen (played by Chris O’Donnell) asking: “Who are we protecting?”

He and Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) are standing in front of a door which opens and they meet their ward.

“You two are my babysitters,” retired Navy Admiral Kilbride (Gerald McRaney) informs the pair as the men reunite.

“This whole thing seems off to me,” Hanna says, apparently unconvinced by the operation to locate a missing Naval intelligence operator.

Cut to a shot of Hetty looking suspicious, suggesting nothing is as it seems.

The trailer returns to the team with Callen, Hanna, Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi standing around a table seemingly forming a plan.

“A young woman’s life is in danger,” Admiral Kilbride warns them as the team seem to be racing against the clock to save the operative.

The trailer comes to a head with Deeks and Kensi jumping off the edge of a balcony but thankfully they’ve get a swimming pool below them to break their fall.

Hail Mary could see Eric Beale’s (Barrett Foa) continued absence from the show as he’s still consulting in San Francisco.

Speaking about the return of Admiral Kilbride, NCIS LA’s executive producer Scott Gemmill told Parade: “We’re going to see Admiral Kilbride, who’s played by Gerald McRaney, comes back in.

“Gerald is back in the third episode and taking over for the day because of an operation. I’m hoping we see more of Gerald because he’s so fun to have on the show.

“It’s so funny. Every year, we tend to come back with a plan, and for many reasons, those plans go awry because of things that are beyond our control in terms of actor availability, if someone gets ill, or someone’s pregnant, and so, this year, we didn’t have a really solid plan because we were waiting for the other shoe to drop, and actually, everything stayed pretty cool.”

He added: “So, this was one of the easiest launches we’ve had for years. Linda’s going to be back, and Gerald is a great foil for her, as well.”
