Strictly Come Dancing 2019 Catherine Tyldesley announces BBC filming has started | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Strictly Come Dancing has wasted no time in getting their recently announced 2019 cast off to a flying start.

The celebrity contestants have been revealed and it seems they are already getting used to the glamorous costumes and make-up that comes along with the show.

Most of the line-up have shared updates today confirming Strictly 2019 has started filming as they have been convening in London for work.

Catherine Tyldesley took to Twitter today to share with her 422,500 followers: “London bound… it may involve sequins…”

Chris Ramsey also shed some light on what he had been working on, posting: “First day filming stuff for @bbcstrictly today!

“Filming done @bbcstrictly. Did the interview stuff and the daft messing about with glitter balls and things… didn’t feel as much of a tool as I thought I would! GREAT SUCCESS!”

Anneka Rice initially shared a status hinting at her being “panic-stricken” for the day, before keeping herself relaxed with a scenic painting she labelled as “#StrictlyDistracting”.

YouTuber Saffron Barker and BBC Breakfast’s Mike Bushell shared a cute exchange on Twitter, with the former posting: “Out early and off to film something very exciting with @bbcstrictly today!! (I’m vlogging the bts too) Can this show start already?!”

Mike replied: “Great to meet you in hair and make up and get the excitement going. Hope you enjoyed your first taste of glitter. Can’t wait to get going properly.”

Saffron added: “Ah you’re so kind and bubbly! Lovely to meet you too! Haha see you next week when this crazy journey all starts and we can bust out our moves.”

It was different news for James Cracknell, who suffered a little accident on the road while on his way to rehearsals.

He posted a short video, with the caption: “Short wobble - literally - in my @bbcstrictly preparations.

“Luckily only a bit of road rash and damaged ego - but I need to get ready for the latter.”

While only little, Strictly fans will be delighted to hear the news filming is underway as the dancing fever ramps up.

Meanwhile, all eyes are on who will lift the Glitterball trophy, but in bad news for Kevin Clifton fans, it seems it won’t be him.

According to Strictly statistics, there has only ever been one professional to claim the title twice - Aliona Vilani.

No other female professional or any single male dancer has won the show twice.

What’s more, no pro has ever claimed the crown in succession, putting Kevin’s chances of victory on thin ice.

He’s currently tipped to dance with Michelle Visage, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Strictly Come Dancing will air on BBC One later this year.
