Stranger Things season 4: Eleven to turn evil after Mind Flayer attack? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Stranger Things fans will remember the gruesome scene that saw Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) attacked by the Mind Flayer in the season finale.

Many speculated that the goo that El was scene pulling from her leg after the attack, could actually have been what took her powers following a flash-forward scene revealed the protagonist was still without her supernatural abilities.

However, one eagle-eyed fan thinks the attack could have caused a far more sinister chain of events.

Taking to Reddit, the fan compared the bite in El’s leg to that of Billy’s (Darce Montgomery) after he was possessed.

The fan said: “If Eleven is infected, the Mind Flayer could control her like it did with Billy, Will and the flayed, to eventually destroy her or use her to get more control/spread.”

With Eleven being the biggest threat to the Mind Flayer, it is plausible the monster could seek to control her after being unsuccessful in destroying her.

Could the next outing see Eleven turn evil?

A second user agreed, making note of the way Billy was infected in the early episodes of season three.

The user said: “Billy was similar in being infected, he got a bite and then he's pulled forcefully in the steel mill where he's 'filled' for lack of a better term, with the monster goo.

“We know thats how people are infected when we see the life gaurd and her family infected.”

However, other fans expect to see Eleven’s powers return in the next outing with the help of Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Joyce (Winona Ryder).

Reddit user JediSabre predicted Eleven’s powers would return, but not for some time.

The user said: “So I don’t think Eleven’s powers will have returned by the start of season 4.

“Eleven is with Joyce and I imagine she’ll be struggling from being disconnected to Mike and grieving over Hopper.

“Joyce will be helping her though. She’s Joyce, after all!

“Mike will have been trying everything to restore Eleven’s powers, but I think Joyce will be helping El to see that it’s not her powers that make her special.

“She’ll come to accept that her powers have gone and she may want to move on and get some sense of who she really is without them, so she might take Joyce’s advice to heart and ask Mike to stop trying to help her get them back...but Mike doesn’t want to give up.”

The user went on to speculate the return of Mr Clarke (Randy Havens) in helping Eleven regain her powers.

The user added: "Because of the chemical aspect to what is repressing Eleven from using her powers, Mr Clarke will be the secret hero once again - giving a lecture on how chemicals mix together, and the reactions they cause.”

Stranger Things seasons 1-3 are streaming now on Netflix.
