Noel Gallagher vows to move out of London after stabbings on his street | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Noel Gallagher, 52, said he doesn’t want his three children, Anais, 19, Donovan, 11, and Sonny, eight, to grow up in the city.

The former Oasis star revealed he is selling his £8 million mansion in Little Venice, London, for a life in the countryside.

He told the Irish Independent: “We didn’t want the kids growing up in London. We’ve had two stabbings outside our house in the last while.”

Noel explained there’s a “housing estate war” going on, and he is eager to hurry up and move away with his children and wife Sara MacDonald.

“I live, as you can imagine, in quite an affluent area,” he said.

“At one end of the street is one housing estate and the other end is another housing estate, and they are currently at war.”

Noel continued: “One guy was stabbed in the middle of the f***king day and an air ambulance had to come and land in the middle of the street and all the streets were taped off.”

The Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds vocalist said the thought of his children getting the tube across London is “too stressful”.

The brother of Liam Gallagher added: ”So we decided that we are going to go out to the country and put them to school in the country. We’ll just commute into London."

Noel has been trying to sell his six-bedroom home in London since 2016, when he originally put it up for £11.5 million.

The father-of-three has now slashed the asking price to £8 million, the price he bought it for back in 2010.

Elsewhere, Noel may not see eye-to-eye with his brother, Liam, but they both have the same concerns about knife crime in the capital.

Liam appeared on BBC Breakfast in June ahead of his Glastonbury performance where he called out London Mayor, Sadiq Khan.

The singer said he would “have a word” with the Mayor as he questioned his tactics in tackling knife violence.

“I’m not into politics and all that but I do keep an eye on it,” he said on the BBC.

“I don’t know much about Brexit but I’d have a word with that mayor, he seems to not be doing a good job. All those kids getting knifed up and all that.”

He continued: “The only thing that ever comes out of Sadiq Khan’s mouth is: London is open. Open for what, for knife crime and dying?”

Liam said knife crime in the capital “freaks” him out as he revealed his fears for his children.

“But every time you wake up in the morning there’s some 16-year-old kid that has been knifed to death,” he said.

“I’ve got kids that are that age, you know, out and about, going and doing their thing, living and being young and that freaks me out.”
