Game of Thrones season 8: Tyrion Lannister reunited with ex-wife Sansa Stark | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Category: Entertainment,Gossip

Game of Thrones fans have enjoyed watching Tyrion Lannister’s (played by Peter Dinklage) fall from grace over the last few seasons.

While he was once the Hand of the King, he was then tried for the murder of his nephew, and then went on the run.

Now he has taken the position of Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) right-hand man, he holds a position of power once again.

But many fans have since forgotten about his marriage with Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), which he was forced into by Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey).

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Tyrion star Peter recently hinted at what could come between the Imp and the new Lady of Winterfell.

He began: “I love those two characters when they’re together.

“There’s something so sensitive about their relationship. For something so horrible and arranged there was a goodness to it and mutual affection in horrible circumstances.

“It was a marriage as a treaty, as a lot of those arranged marriages were.”

He even went on to hint at their marriage working in another life.

Peter added: “Though you hear of arranged marriages now working out. If it was given a chance maybe it would have.”

But while Tyrion and Sansa haven’t seen each other in a long time, could their marriage still be rekindled in the final episodes?

Although unlikely, the duo will certainly be spending a lot of time together in the next six episodes - but will it lead to anything?

Sansa’s love life could be the least of Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) worries in the final episodes, as fans have pointed out he may be usurped in season eight.

One fan on Reddit pointed out: “Jon obviously gets hailed as King in the North by all of the northern houses at the beginning of the season because of his leadership skills but also primarily due to the fact that he is believed to be Ned Stark's son.

“The northern houses get over the fact that he is a ‘b*****d’. Lady Mormont says ‘I don't care if he's a bastard, Ned Stark's blood runs through his veins.’”

They added: “I am wondering how they will react when they find out he is not Ned's son, and is actually a Targaryen.

“As Jon is telling all of the northern houses that he will sail for Dragon Stone to meet with Dany, they all cry out for him not to go because ‘Targaryen's can't be trusted.’

“That sentiment stems from the remembering the acts of King Aerys against the Starks.”

But will this factor in to the potential discourse which is sure to appear in the coming episodes?

Game of Thrones season eight returns April 14 to HBO and airs on Sky Atlantic at 2am and 9pm a day later.
