Game of Thrones season 8: Daenerys Targaryen killed by Samwell Tarly after this clue? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Game of Thrones season eight has finally begun, and with it many more scenes and dialogue exchanges for fans to dissect.

However, following the first episode of season eight was Sky Atlantic’s Thronecast - a discussion panel about the latest episode.

And this week saw the arrival of James Faulkner, who played Randyll Tarly - Samwell Tarly’s (played by John Bradley) late father.

Unfortunately Randyll may have no chance of appearing in the final season after his brutal death in season seven, but that didn't did stop James from weighing in on the latest twists.

The actor arrived on Thronecast and launched straight into the moment Samwell learned of the death of his father and brother Randyll and Dickon Tarly (Tom Hopper).

And he feels this event may cause a huge change in the way Samwell acts in the final season of the show.

He explained: “The scene that took my attention was Samwell meeting with Jon Snow [Kit Harington] after such an expansive time.

“And being given the news Daenerys Targaryen [Emilia Clarke] had killed his father and his brother.

“And he didn’t seem to care too much about the death of Randyll - but he took it very badly that his brother - his sibling had been offed by Daenerys.”

Samwell is not usually a man of action but more of a man of contemplation - but fans saw this news already change his usually subtle and sombre demeanour.

Instantly after hearing about Daenerys’ brutal execution of his family, Samwell sought out Jon to break the news about his true parentage.

James added in a sinister tone: “I think her days are numbered.

“I think there’s enough Tarly blood and resolve in that young man to take her head off - and she deserves it!”

However host Sue Perkins couldn’t help but ask: “Are you sour?”

To which James responded: “A little bit.”

But could this new path for Samwell see him taking down Daenerys in a brutal fashion, or will it ultimately get him into a spot of trouble?

Meanwhile fans of the show have been vehemently hitting out at the lack of any new scenes with Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie).

Speaking out on Twitter one wrote: “Is anybody else wondering where Brienne and Pod were tonight? #GameOfThrones.”

While another added: “Where was Brienne this episode? #GameOfThrones.”

Game of Thrones continues Sunday on HBO in the USA and the following day on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
