EastEnders spoilers: Ben Mitchell to kill again after warning off Lola’s fiancé Ewan? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Category: Entertainment,Gossip

Lola’s (played by Danielle Harold) husband-to-be Ewan (Riley Jones) came down to Walford in tonight’s episode of EastEnders, all the way from Newcastle.

Torn between Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) and Ewan, Lola decided she needed to see if there could be a future for her Jay but he told her there wouldn’t be after she lied to him.

Lola told Ben (Max Bowden) to stall with Ewan and later informed him she would be going back to Newcastle with Ewan.

However, Ben ended up lying to them both on the BBC soap in order to keep Lola with him in Albert Square.

He took Ewan to the cafe where he said they would be meeting Lola but his intentions were really to warn him away.

As it became clear Lola wasn’t coming, Ben revealed: “I was lying. That’s what psychopaths generally do. Not that I am one of course but it has been said.”

He went on to snatch Ewan’s phone away from him as Lola rang his mobile.

“I’m thinking ahead. We’re good at that,” Ben declared as Ewan questioned who he meant by “we”.

Be retorted: “We psychos. Lola never did tell you what I did when I was a kid did she?

“She was probably too embarrassed what with me being Lexi’s biological dad she might’ve thought I’ve passed on the gene.”

“What are you talking about?” a baffled Ewan responded.

Ben explained: “The psycho gene. I killed someone when I was 16. She was gone. I only did two years for it mind on account of it being reduced to manslaughter.

“Of course what with me being so young they were all over me like a dose of chicken pox. Psychiatrists, social workers, youth offender team, you name it. All trying to answer that one crucial question. Was Ben born evil or was it down to his neglectful dad?”

A rattled Ewan replied: “Why’re you telling me this?”

Ben continued: “Most of the time I am a very nice person. I’m friendly, I’m charming. I’d do anything for anyone, me. But sometimes that button gets pushed. And you really don’t want to be in way way when then happens.

“Madness is a rational response to a crazy world. Anyway, here’s what you’re going to do. You’re going to get back in that car, you’re going to drive all the way up the A1 to Newcastle and when you get there you’re going to forget about Lola.”

Handing over cash to Ewan, Ben added: “Buy yourself a new phone with that but when you do, you don’t call Lola you don’t text her you don’t contact her in anyway are you following me.

“If you do, I’m going to come to Newcastle, to that grotty little flat above that grotty little corner shop in Westgate and I’m going to kill ya. And then I’m going to kill that lovely little foster mother of yours or maybe I’ll kill her first, let you watch. Whatever suits you best.”

Ewan did what he was told as he left the cafe as Ben sent horrible messages to Lola from Ewan’s phone, finishing the relationship.

It’s already been made clear that Ben has returned from Portugal as a much darker character but this new development has taken a twisted turn.

It’s been years since Ben killed Heather Trott (Cheryl Fergison) and it seemed as though he had moved on from that dark chapter in his life, but could he turn murderer again?

If he does, it may well be that his own dad, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is in his sights as Ben has returned wanting revenge. Viewers will have to wait and see.

EastEnders continues Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
