Category: Entertainment,Gossip

ITV viewers last night (Sunday, March 31) were left in shock last night as Tim Metcalfe (played by Joe Duttine) had a heart attack. Coronation Street viewers were left wondering whether Tim will die on the show or whether Joe Duttine will leave Corrie after the incident. Duttine has not said he is leaving the show, so Tim could be staying in Weatherfield for the time being.

Does Tim die in Corrie?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Coronation Street

If the synopsis for tonight’s episode is to be believed, Tim will survive his heart attack.

The official logline for tonight’s Coronation Street reads: “Imran (Charlie de Melo) accuses Carla (Alison King) of covering up the truth, and Sally thanks Gina for saving Tim's life.”

This seems to say that Tim will be safe for now.

In Sunday’s episode, Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) did not seem to notice as her husband was in serious pain.

However, Gina Seddon (Connie Hyde) forced Tim to go to the doctor.

His GP told him he needed to go to the hospital right away as he had had a mild heart attack.

The doctor told Gina that she had saved Tim’s life by acting so quickly.

Previously, Coronation Street bosses had spoken about how they were working with a cardiac charity on a storyline.

They told Digital Spy: “Our research team and writers have been working with the British Heart Foundation looking at Tim's lifestyle choices and how the benefits of healthy eating and regular exercise impact on his health."

Though Tim seems to be not leaving Corrie just yet if he doesn’t make some lifestyle changes the character could suffer a heart attack in upcoming episodes.

However, according to the Daily Star Sunday, it seems as if Sally might step in to stop this from happening.

A source told the newspaper: “Sally is beside herself when Tim has a heart attack.

"They have been through so much and are finally looking forward to their future together when she realises she could've lost him.

"It's a real wake-up call for her. And Sally, being Sally, takes charge by putting him on a strict diet and devises a fitness plan.

"It's not going to be easy as Tim loves his beer and a bacon butty.

The added: “She's going to have her work cut out."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV
