BBC News: Dan Walker hits out at BBC Breakfast viewers over wardrobe swipe | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

BBC Breakfast hosts Dan Walker and Louise Minchin are no strangers to criticisms online.

However Louise and Dan were eager to talk about the changes they have made throughout Lent this year.

And Louise explained she had stopped purchasing new clothes this year after an interview on the show.

But she went on to confess: “When Lent is over I might go back to the shops!”

Louise went on to address the cameras directly, adding: “But you all might have an opinion on me - you’ve all seen my wardrobe!”

But Dan took this opportunity to hit out at viewers a little by defending his colleague.

He began: “Also the other end of it is: In this job I can literally wear the same suit three days on the trot and no one cares!

“But if you wore the same shirt…”

“If I wore the same shirt three days in a row!” Louise chimed in.

Dan went on: “You’d get grief for it! Which is annoying and wrong!”

Louise moved on to the next news piece by continuing: “Yes, well, anyway.”

Yesterday’s edition of BBC Breakfast also saw Dan speaking out during the show.

However, he took a cheeky swipe towards Louise during a discussion about the Post Office.

Dan explained he always visits his local post office, and they usually ask about his colleagues.

He said: “Most of them ask about you, Steph. ‘How’s Steph? Oh, she’s all right - we love Steph!’

“‘Carol? How’s Carol today? Oh she’s all right.’”

Sally Nugent was eager to inquire further, as she added: “What about Louise?”

Dan smirked before replying: “No, just Steph and Carol I’m afraid.”

Louise pulled a shocked face before chuckling the situation away and moving on.

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.
