Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Chloe Hewitt, 23, reflected on the time she auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent with AJ Pritchard, 24, in 2013. The dance partners made it to the live semi-finals of the show which was later won by Attraction. Speaking about their audition, Chloe said AJ urged her to do the show, but admitted she was “petrified”. She exclusively told Express.co.uk: “I was like, ‘Hmm it’s not the end of the world if we didn’t do it,’ but AJ was like, ‘We have to do it. We’re gonna do it.’

“I remember the audition, I was petrified. I was so scared.

“AJ was taking it all in his stride, he was so cool about everything.

“Whereas when we competed, I was always the cool one and AJ was the stress head.

“So roles reversed that day. I was petrified but it went great."

The duo impressed judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams with their Latin routine in the live semi-final round of the show, but they failed to make it the final on the public vote.

Despite this, Chloe said: “We had a great time.

“It was one of the first times doing TV as well so just being able to experience all that was crazy as well.”

Chloe went on to say having been AJ’s dance partner for 12 years, people often referred to them as a “married couple”.

She said: “We were kind of in each other’s pockets for a very long time.

“A lot of people associated us as an old married couple which was really weird."

Chloe was previously a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing for two years in 2016 and 2017.

The dancer performed in the dance numbers on the live BBC One show, but was never partnered with a celebrity.

When asked about the reason for her exit, Chloe said she doesn’t think she’ll ever know the real reason why she wasn’t invited back to the show.

She said: “You know what, I have no idea.

“We were on tour last year and we got the annual phone call and the producer just said they’ve loved having me on the show and that I wouldn’t be brought back that year.

“I don’t actually know and I don’t think I’ll ever know the reason why.”

Despite moving on to other projects, Chloe admitted she would “never say never” to a return.

She added: “I think I’d be silly if I turned around and said, ‘Absolutely not’, but I don’t know... I think it would kind of be in the moment, like the feelings I have at the time.”
