The popstar and actress, 44, had to postpone taking to the stage in the lead role of the musical, which features music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and is based on the hit 1980 film of the same name, after suffering nasty injuries following a fall. Earlier this afternoon, Louise Redknapp confirmed the date for her return as she excitedly updated her 607,000 Instagram followers. “So it’s now official,” she said. “I am going to be rejoining the West End cast of @9to5themusicaluk on Monday 25th March until 29th June.

“Hope to see you there,” she added.

Fans and famous faces alike were delighted by the news, with Keith Lemon, real name Leigh Francis, 45, commenting: “Hurrrrraaaah! Can’t wait!”(sic)

Another fan gushed: “Fab news! I’m seeing this on the 3rd April.”

“Great news. I’m afraid to say, ‘Break a leg,’ after your recent mishap!” one social media user quipped. “But you know what I mean. Best of luck!”

Others expressed their disappointment to have missed Louise’s stint in 9 to 5, as one wrote: “So gutted that we missed you! Might just have to come and see it again!”

9 to 5 also shared the good news with their 4,000 Twitter followers, saying: “We can officially reveal that @LouiseRedknapp will re-join the show from Monday 25th March!

“Catch her in the role of Violet, the sassy office supervisor, until 29th June.”

Louise had to pull out of 9 to 5 in January after a fall left her with a cut on her chin and a fractured wrist.

At the time, she told fans: “It breaks my heart to say I m having to take some time out and won’t be able to continue with my role in 9-5.

“Due to a nasty fall I have only gone and fractured my writ and got 10 (yes 10) stitches in my chin.”

Louise said she would be following medical advice to recuperate before returning to rehearsals, adding: “I will be ok but as they say in the theatre, ‘The show must go on,’ and I wish the rest of the cast an amazing open ing night and I will be back on that stage for 9-5 before you know it.”

Elsewhere, Louise, who was divorced from her husband of 19 years Jamie Redknapp, 45, at the end of 2017, recently opened up on “rebuilding” herself.

In an Instagram post marking International Women’s Day, she uploaded a black and white picture of herself alongside a motivational message.

“You can break a woman temporarily but a REAL WOMAN will always pick up the pieces, rebuild herself and come back stronger than ever,” the quote said.

In the caption, Louise thanked those close to her for being her “rock”.

“Happy #internationalwomensday,” she said. “I know lots of amazing incredible women some who have been my rock thank you and ladies go smash it.”
