Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: Creators reveal what will happen once the show ends | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Game of Thrones season eight is almost here, and fans are excited to see how the show will end.

Yet, many fans out there are worried about life after Game of Thrones since their favourite show will be over.

Fans aren’t the only ones worrying about this, as the show’s creators are as well.

Season eight will mark the end of an era for Benioff and Weiss who were the ones who started the show back in 2011.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Benioff and Weiss opened up on how the show has changed their lives and how strange it’ll be for them once it’s over.

“If ten years ago somebody had given me a chance to write a ticket, I wouldn’t have been crazy enough to write a ticket to something this great,” Weiss said.

“I just think about how bizarre it will be to not be doing this anymore, because it becomes the water you swim in. It becomes every minute of every day, 365 days a year, this show is on your mind or in your life.

"After it’s done, it will be like re-entering some weird universe where I don’t even know how people act there anymore."

Benioff added: “If you’re going to spend ten years working on one show, you better really love the people you work with, because you’re spending a s***load of time away from your family and friends.

“You always put everything into it. So to spend time on a show that people respond to all over the world, it’s incredibly gratifying.

"You have these characters you love, and you can come up with ideas for them, and a few months later these incredible actors will be saying those things. That’s such a rare gift.”

However, it won’t be the end of the Game of Thrones universe on the small screen entirely as there is a spinoff series in the works.

George R.R. Martin and Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, Kingsman) are working on a prequel series.

The series will be based on Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series, and it’s rumoured to be taking place thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones.

It’ll reportedly document the Game of Thrones’ world’s descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.

According to HBO’s website, this prequel show will also unveil the secrets behind the true origin of the White Walkers.

It’ll also, apparently, chronicle, “the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend, only one thing is for sure: It’s not the story we think we know".

The show already boasts an impressive cast with the likes of Naomi Watts, Poldark’s Josh Whitehouse and Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald) starring.

Watts will be the show’s lead, and her character will be a charismatic socialite hiding a “dark secret”, which sounds not unlike Lean Heady’s Cersei Lannister.

Game of Thrones season 8 returns April 14 on HBO in the US, and the next day on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
