The Voice UK 2019 on has beaten The Greatest Dancer on BBC for a second week running.

Both shows went head-to-head again last night, with Simon Cowell’s dance show broadcasting its second episode last night.

The Greatest Dancer sees Oti Mabuse, Matthew Morrison and Cheryl form the panel, while Alesha Dixon and Jordan Banjo host.

Meanwhile on ITV, Emma Willis presents, as Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson, Olly Murs and take their places in the hot seat.

Last night’s episode of The Greatest Dancer pulled in 4.1 million viewers in the prime-time slot.

However, only just pipping it to the post, The Voice UK attracted a higher figure of 4.6 million viewers.

Despite the win, The Voice UK’s audience share was 200,000 down from last week’s average of 4.8 million.

Last year’s series brought in a higher audience, with a whopping 5.6million.

A spokesperson for the BBC told The Metro: “Audiences for all channels were down on the first week of January and after the fanfare of launch.

“It’s no surprise you saw a drop for The Voice and TGD.

“It’s great that we still brought in more than four million average and the show grew its audience throughout.”

Last night’s episode of The Voice UK saw a series first with newcomer Grace taking the stage by storm.

The 17-year-old performer from Coventry performed her very own original song.

Sir Tom was stunned by her talent along with his fellow coaches.

The singing legend then decided to offer her a spot on his team.

After Grace left the stage she spoke to host Emma who revealed a shocking fact.

Emma revealed it was the very first time a coach has turned around for an original song.

The presenter said: “That’s the first time ever someone has turned around to an original song. Isn’t that amazing!”
