Emmerdale spoilers Charity Dingle proposes to Vanessa Woodfield as she fears for her life | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Emmerdale’s Vanessa Woodfield (played by Michelle Hardwick) is currently in hospital after a stabbing.

She became the latest victim of Lachlan White’s (Thomas Atkinson) following his revenge spree.

But it seems there’s some hope on the horizon for Vanessa as she gets a proposal from Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) she can’t turn down.

Poor Charity can barely cope as she waits by Vanessa’s bed side as much as possible.

She is worried for the future and at that point, realises she can’t possibly let Vanessa go and decides to take action.

Actress Emma spilled: “Every night that Charity is waiting for Vanessa to come home from hospital is another one of worry.

“It’s also another occasion for her to think about how her feelings for Vanessa are deepening and intensifying.”

Emma continued: “Charity needs to speak to somebody and she blurts it out to Chas [Lucy Pargeter] that Vanessa could have died - and still could.

“So what if she never gets to have this conversation and tell Vanessa how she loves her?”

From that point on, Charity is resolved and insists she needs to have a conversation with Vanessa.

Although they haven’t been dating long, the impulsive character insists she needs to propose.

As if by chance, there’s an extremely elaborate proposal about to happen at Home Farm.

Charity somehow tries to hijack a random man’s plans which turns into quite the comedic moment.

Emma added: “Charity is literally running in the opposite direction, goes to Home Farm and then hijacks this guy’s proposal, which is absolutely brilliant.

“It’s funny, farcical and a brilliant episode, which is the opposite end of the scale of everything Charity has been through.”

Will the proposal be a success or will Vanessa decide the time isn’t right for a wedding?

Elsewhere in Emmerdale, all eyes are on Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) and whether he will confess to the murder of Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).

It seems he could be about to reveal all to Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy).

The pair are both at an alcohol dependency class, where they are learning to curb their demons, but will he put too much trust into Laurel?

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7pm.
