Cleaning Up on ITV: Blunder noticed during Sheridan Smith cleaning scenes | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Category: Entertainment,Gossip

Cleaning Up aired its first episode on ITV earlier this evening, with Sheridan Smith playing the lead character Sam.

The new drama sees Sam, who works as a cleaner working in a office where trading stocks and shares takes place.

However, those watching the new series at home noticed an epic blunder.

During many of the scenes that were filmed in the office, viewers noticed several of the computer screens were still on.

Moreover, they had live stocks and share markets displayed, which apparently wouldn’t happen in reality due to security elements.

Taking to Twitter to discuss the issue, one said: “All those screen left unlocked overnight? I get in trouble for leaving mine unlocked for a minute walking away from my desk. Something tells me insider trading isn’t their only problem. #CleaningUp.”

“You’d never have the live shares and data left visible if no one is in the office! #CleaningUp,” another added.

A third commented: “Pretty bad security in that trading firm - unlocked screens, with trading data in view?! #CleaningUp.”

“Left their screens unlocked. Who is in breach of compliance? Already fell at the first hurdle #CleaningUp,” someone tweeted.

“#CleaningUp All the screens would be locked! 360 security cameras… desks cleared and locked away!” One commented.

Nevertheless, many loved the new series and were quick to comment on Sheridan’s performance.

“First episode of #CleaningUp was absolutely brilliant. Well done @sheridansmith1 loved it! Bring on the rest!!!” One viewer said.

Another remarked: “#CleaningUp didn’t disappoint.”

“So glad to see @Sheridansmith1 back on our screens already loving #CleaningUp,” another tweet read.

In the second episode, viewers will find out whether the recording device Sam planted in Blake’s (Ben Bailey Smith) office is found.

Alongside that, the summary for the second instalment has been released.

Sam’s money-making plan stars to reap the rewards, however it comes at a cost.

With a temperamental daughter angry at her mother, Alice (Kirsty Phillipps) goes to live with her dad.

And if matters couldn’t get any worse for Sam, the listening device is found in the office and an investigation is launched within the company.

Desperate to make more money and pay off Jess (Jade Anouka) and her own debts, Sam seeks an alternative way to get the inside information needed to make insider trading deals.

Cleaning Up returns next Wednesday at 9pm on ITV
