I’m A Celebrity 2018: James McVey’s secret swipe at campmates called out by Dec Donnelly | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Category: Entertainment,Gossip

Holly Willoughby and Declan Donnelly came into camp to deliver the news to the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! contestants.

They announced it could be either James or Harry Redknapp, but it was the musician who got the chop.

He went off for a candid chat with Holly and Dec about his time in the ITV competition.

James began: “I’m so happy its been the toughest thing I’ve ever done and I’m over the moon to have done it.”

However, conversation later turned to the comments he was seen making earlier in the programme.

In a conversation with Harry where he tried to cover his microphone, James had a dig at his fellow contestants for “showing off”.

Dec couldn’t help but tell James that they had seen what he had said.

James looked quite surprised at what Dec had said and tried to laugh it off.

“Oh really?” he chuckled nervously. “I don’t know what you’re watching.”

Dec then added: “Just when you cover your mic we can still hear you.”

But James was quick to defend himself by saying it was all down to him being in a “mood”.

Of his more extroverted campmates, he said: “Having them there really picked us up throughout.”

James continued: “It was nothing personal, I wasn’t at all disappointed with people. I’m just moody.

“It was just me moaning, one moan for the whole series.”

James also admitted he had been struggling in camp following the departure of Nick Knowles, who was voted out one day before.

He told Dec and Holly: “I saw Nick as a father figure during this process and I was really inspired by everything he did.”

“I was struggling without having that figure to look up to,” James said.

Now there are just four celebrities left in the jungle to battle it out for the crown.

Those still in the running to become King or Queen of the Jungle are Harry, Fleur East, John Barrowman and Emily Atack.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
