X Factor 2018: Louis Tomlinson to lose another act this week? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Category: Entertainment,Gossip

The race to be crowned 2018’s X Factor champion is heating up, yet judge and mentor Louis Tomlinson might find himself an act lighter after Sunday’s results show.

Brendan Murray found himself in the sing-off in week two, yet he was safe on last week’s show.

However, Brendan’s gone from being one of the favourites to win the show to one of the most likely to be voted off according to bookmakers OddsMonkey.

However, one of Louis’ other acts, Dalton Harris, 24, is now the odds-on favourite to win the show.

Dalton’s been hugely impressive since the start of the show, and he took over as the favourite after last week’s performance.

He sang Radiohead’s Creep and the judges were blown away by his rendition of the indie rock hit.

Shan is the second favourite at 10/3, and one of Louis’s other acts, Anthony Russell, is the third favourite at 7/1.

Giovanni Spano and Danny Tetley are the favourites to leave this week according to OddsMonkey.

Both acts managed to avoid being in the bottom three last week which saw United Vibe and Molly Scott leave the competition.

OddsMonkey spokesman Peter Watton commented: “Dalton is just getting more and more popular, every week he impresses and that means more and more money, we are being told that that vast majority of all bets is for Dalton.

“Likewise at the other end of the market, and huge amounts of money is coming for Brendan, who has really dropped off the cliff having been one of the favourites at the start of the show.”

Meanwhile, with Robbie Williams having embarked on his tour of South America, one of the judges’ chairs remains empty and there’s an interesting rumour about who could be about to fill it.

Last week saw Nile Rodgers occupy Robbie’s chair and he’ll do so again this weekend, yet Simon Cowell is looking for another replacement for week 5.

This has led to people speculating Louis Walsh could be about to make a comeback.

The Irishman previously was on the judging panel from 2004 to 2014 and made a return to the show in 2016 only to leave one year later.

According to Coral bookmakers, Louis’ odds to make a comeback currently sit at 1 to 2 after an influx of bets in the past few days.

John Hill of Coral said: “Louis has been part of the furniture on X Factor since the early days of the show and punters are backing him to make another return next year as a judge.”

Will Simon really want the former X Factor judge to make a return, or will he find someone else tossup into Robbie’s shoes?

Meanwhile, X Factor producers will be hoping they won’t experience any more technical difficulties with the show this week after last Saturday’s sound issues.

X Factor continues Saturday at 8.30pm on ITV.
