Strictly Come Dancing 2018: Danny John-Jules dealt exit blow after show development? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Strictly Come Dancing is tougher than ever this year, and as the last few weeks are set to be more brutal than ever, this week may see the exit of Danny John-Jules.

Danny has been placed as one of the top contenders of the competition since week one as his natural affinity to dancing began shining through his performances.

He was even the first contestant to receive a 10 this year, leaving him with a good chance of gaining a slot in the final.

However the past few weeks have been a little tough on Danny, as he struggled to keep his routine in check during his Foxtrot routine.

This morning Danny’s odds have been slashed by to leave this coming weekend.

In the early weeks of this year’s show, Danny sat with a healthy 8/1 to win, ahead of Stacey Dooley and Joe Sugg.

However this has now dropped dramatically to a low of 25/1, leaving him with a chance of being sent home.

This correlates with the likelihood of his exit this weekend, which last week sat at 16/1, but now rests at 6/1. spokesperson Alex Kostin commented Danny “might be dancing for the last time this weekend".

Could this drop in the odds spell out the end of Danny’s journey on Strictly Come Dancing?

Earlier this week Danny appeared on morning show Lorraine to discuss his drop on the leaderboard.

He claimed the drop in score was merely “a minor blip".

He also spoke about the pressure he now feels after claiming the first ten of the competition.

He said: “Well the ten is the pressure. As soon as you get a 10 you go home with pressure.”

The former Red Dwarf star also spoke about the support his partner Amy Dowden has been providing for him.

He continued: “I need the Welsh fire, my attention span is about the size of a gnat.

“A few lashes with the hollow whip and i’m back in line!”

Despite his prowess so far in the show, he admitted was not yet using the “F-Word” - finals.

Amy added they are just “working each week as they come".

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7.05pm on BBC One.
