Faye Tozer: Strictly 2018 star finally addresses ‘rivalry’ with co-star Ashley Roberts | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Faye Tozer was just one point behind Ashley Roberts on Strictly Come Dancing 2018 last weekend, and has since branded her an “incredible” performer.

However, the Steps hitmaker said she “doesn’t see” any rivalry between her and The Pussycat Dolls star, despite them both being tipped to lift the Glitterball next month.

The 42-year-old spoke out in this week’s OK! Magazine, where she was pictured alongside her spouse Michael Smith and son Benjamin.

She and the blonde beauty, 37, both achieved 39 points from the judges during the Halloween special and neither have found themselves in the dance-off, yet.

Faye commented: “I don’t see it as rivalry as I don’t want to see anyone go home!

“Ashley’s an incredible dancer and Pasha [Kovalev] is an incredible choreographer and dancer.”

The mother-of-one has been wowing the panel alongside Giovanni Pernice, while the American singer-songwriter has been doing the same with the boyfriend of Rachel Riley.

Faye continued: “It’s nice to have someone there who understands my pressure as Ashley and I both put a lot of pressure on ourselves.”

Meanwhile, during her chat, she opened up on her biggest challenge to date in relation to the show, and it is not facing Craig Revel-Horwood after every dance.

She went on: “Being away from home is hard but Michael’s support is fanatic. I do put a lot of pressure on myself and I find it hard to manage my nerves.

“I had a big wobble the week we did the Foxtrot and I had a shift in my mindset doing Halloween week.”

Faye added: “Instead of being consumed by nerves, I thought to myself before I went on, this is the last time I’m going to perform this routine, I know I can do it.”

It comes after Dr Ranj Singh became the latest - and sixth - contestant to get the boot in Sunday’s result show.

He was forced to perform again with Janette Manrara, while going up against Charles Venn and his professional partner Karen Clifton.

The only judge to save the former duo was Craig, 53, who told them: “I found this one really difficult actually, two very different dancers, two very different sets of dance skill as well. But for me the most improved in that set of skills was Ranj and Janette.”

Meanwhile, according to bookmakers William Hill, Stacey Dooley remain the firm favourite to win with odds of 11/8.

She is followed by Faye and Joe Sugg (both 10/3) and then Ashley Roberts (6/1) and Danny John-Jules (12/1).

“We believe that Ashley Roberts is the most gifted technically and we can see her delivering the first maximum of the series,” a spokesperson told
