Katya Jones and Seann Walsh have apologised after they were filmed snogging last week, after being partnered up on Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

The funny man’s girlfriend Rebecca Humphries went on to release a statement on Twitter, hinting that she had split from him before being inundated with celebrity support.

Among those supporting the actress was Sherlock’s Amanda Abbington, with the former taking comfort in an expletive-filled quote shared with her 241,000 followers.

She liked a post uploaded to the 44-year-old’s page, which read: “Never f*** with someone who is not afraid to be alone.

“You will lose every single time,” which the Mr Selfridge favourite pinned to the top of her profile.

Amanda had previously told Rebecca: “You’re awesome,” before adding a red heart emoji to her message.

Sean’s ex has been liking a whole host of tweets after the pictures of him and Katya emerged at the weekend.

Among those who have been supporting her is former Strictly contestant Laura Whitmore, who reacted to her statement: “Very eloquently put [heart] xx.”

India Willoughby wrote: “Love this letter. Well done @Beckshumps,” while Rhian Sudden said: “This resonates with so many women including myself! You have had a lucky escape!”

Sinitta stated: “Bless you for pulling your punches and showing compassion when he has hurt you so much.

“Thank Goodness you are showing yourself some compassion too now though. You deserve the love you give others for yourself.”

“Gosh this is ace. xx,” Grace Dent told her, as Myleene Klass went on: “A situation recognisable to so many of us.

“You took more than the cat with you, you took your pride, your dignity and your self worth. Sending you so much love and support x.”

Rebecca spoke out directly for the first time on Monday evening, telling her 28,000 followers she was “not a victim”.

“It’s incredibly good of Sean(n) and Katya to apologise in the media,” she started. “I have received nothing, other than the support of my family, friends, and a host of strangers on the internet who call wanted to make sure I was OK.

"What I have also kindly received are many offers to sell my side of the story, but I would prefer for it to be on my own terms.”

Explaining what happened, she said: “I was alone at home when Sean texted at 10pm saying the two of them were going for one innocent drink.

“We spoke and I told him, not for the first time, that his actions over the past three weeks had led me to believe something inappropriate was going on.”

She signed off the lengthy post: “I hope he gets what he wants from this. I'm not sorry I took the cat.”

Strictly Come Dancing 2018 continues Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
