After almost a decade away from EastEnders Albert Square will see the return of classic character Doctor Legg (played by Leonard Fenton).

And the person most excited to see the GP once again is BBC stalwart Dot Cotton (June Brown).

Revealed in new images of Friday’s episode, Dot and Dr. Legg come together once again to reminisce about the old days.

Forever reassuring members of the community, Dr. Legg quickly finds himself reassuring Dot that her latest woes will not be an issue for very long.

Glad to see her friend once again, Dot invites the doctor to the Queen Vic to celebrate Robbie Jackson’s (Dean Gaffney) birthday.

And Dr. Legg is quickly the talk of the town, as he receives an extremely warm welcome from the residents of Albert Square.

After spending some time speaking to the locals about their past, Dr. Legg reveals something is on his mind.

But will the doctor reveal it to the patrons at this celebration?

Or will he keep it to himself, leaving viewers to sweat over his mystery?

With his tentative arrival and personal greeting from Martin Fowler (James Bye) could he have some information about him?

Meanwhile Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) recently confronted her partner Ray Kelly (Sean Mahon) about their relationship.

In a desperate attempt to keep them together, Mel told Ray: “I realised I’d made a huge mistake. I want this to work.”

But he replied: “How is that possible if I can’t trust you?”

This comment sent Mel into a fury, as she yelled: “You can’t trust me? You’re the one who’s always sneaking around in the night making phone calls, disappearing…”

But Ray, always equipped with an answer, simply responded: “I may not be undercover but I still work for the Met.

“I can’t, I won’t discuss my work with you. If that’s a problem for you then maybe…”

After an even more aggressive spat between the couple, they eventually reconciled their relationship later on in the Vic.

But could Dr. Legg’s sudden arrival have something to do with Ray’s?

Or perhaps will he be integral in the secret Dr. Legg is keeping from his friends?

EastEnders continues Monday at 8pm on BBC One.
