Toni Collette 45, stars as Joy Richards in the BBC’s latest drama Wanderlust.

The show follows therapist Joy and her husband, Alan Richards (Steven Mackintosh), who have decided to have an open relationship after years of marriage.

Last week’s episode saw them begin their open relationship, yet in the second episode it turns out that it’s not as easy as they had hoped it would be as they told their new partners about their untraditional marriage.

However, it seems as though some viewers have already had enough of the show after only two episodes, and they made their feelings about the new BBC drama very clear on social media.

One viewer wrote: “Wanderlust is making me cringe time to change channel”

“That’s it Wanderlust, I’m done with you - What a load of s***,” wrote another.

A third viewer asked: “Did anyone persevere with Wanderlust after last week's opener? We gave up.”

“Unfortunately, Wanderlust has made me wander off to another channel,” wrote a fourth viewer.

More viewers took to Twitter to voice their negative feelings towards the show, and some even claimed that the new BBC drama was laughable.

“Wanderlust ok this is stupid. It's so funny. You have to laugh,” wrote another viewer on Twitter.

She went on to discuss how the show offers a new perspective on how middle-aged women tolerate their sex lives instead of enjoying them.

“It's so honest and fresh in the way the women are portrayed. To be a middle-aged woman, to be in a long-term relationship and to be alive, dealing with a lot of things – it's tough,” the actress explained.

“Certainly a middle-aged woman's sense of self-esteem, of sexuality, is not often talked about,” she finished.

Toni will be hoping that more people tune in to watch the upcoming episodes.

Wanderlust’s third episode will air next Tuesday at 9pm on BBC One.
